Here are highlights from the Tigers’ 7-2 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday at Comerica Park:
The Tigers came out swinging, scoring six runs in the first inning. Andy Ibanez drove in the first run with a single to center, scoring Jahmai Jones.
Spencer Torkelson made it 2-0 with a ground-rule double to right, scoring Gleyber Torres.
Ibanez and Torkelson scored on wild pitches by Framber Valdez, giving the Tigers a 4-0 lead.
Dillon Dingler then ripped an RBI-triple to center for a 5-0 advantage.
Javier Baez completed the Tigers’ first-inning run barrage with a single to left, plating Dingler.
The Tigers tacked on a seventh run in the third on a Baez single to center, scoring Dingler, who had reached on a double.
The Astros got on the board in the fourth on a two-run home run by Mauricio Dubon.
Charlie Morton went six innings and gave up three hits and two runs with eight strikeouts.
