Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Thursday’s Red Sox-Yankees matchup.

Red Sox vs. Yankees. Need I say more?

Baseball’s premier rivalry takes center stage on Thursday. These ancient rivals have plenty to play for, separated by just 1.5 games in the standings. With the American League playoff picture heating up, which stars will step up (or blow it) for Boston and New York?

The Yankees enter tonight as -149 favorites over the Red Sox, with the over/under set at 8.5 runs. Here are two player props on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s AL East showdown.

Aaron Judge gets all the headlines, and for good reason. Still, if anyone has a claim as New York’s second most important player, it’s Cody Bellinger. Acquired last winter from the Cubs, it’s been a terrific debut season in the Bronx. Through 116 games, the outfielder is slashing .272/.325/.498 with 24 home runs, 75 RBIs and 11 steals. Over his previous five outings, the 30-year-old is hitting .333 with three dingers and seven RBIs.

Tonight’s matchup against Lucas Giolito won’t be easy for the Yankees. The right-hander comes into Thursday with a solid 3.63 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. However, lefties are slugging .428 against the former All-Star, compared to .385 on the other side of the plate. Giolito’s pitch mix is a fairly standard fastball, slider, and changeup combo. Against the latter of those three offerings, Bellinger is hitting .387 this season. Even if Boston’s hurler doesn’t offer him any changeups, that essentially turns him into a two-pitch hurler. Considering the firepower in this Yankees lineup, Belli might need just one hit to go over this H+R+R total.

Despite trading away Rafael Devers, this Red Sox offense continues to rank among the league’s best. Boston is averaging 4.98 runs per game this year, the fourth-highest mark in baseball. One of the key cogs in this lineup is Jarren Duran. The former All-Star has seen his numbers dip a bit compared to last season. Regardless, the 28-year-old remains one of the American League’s better outfielders. This season, he’s slashing .261/.336/.451 with 12 homers, 69 RBIs and 20 steals.

The Sawx might have their hands full on Thursday against Luis Gil. The AL Rookie of the Year has missed most of 2025 with a lat strain. Still, he’s looked sharp over his two most recent starts. The right-hander has also had success in this spot, notching a 1.10 ERA in three career meetings with Boston. If there’s any weakness for the 27-year-old, he does have a propensity to lose control (career 4.8 BB/9). This is especially true against left-handed batters, who have a .320 lifetime on-base percentage vs. Gil. Durran isn’t an OBP king, but he has notched a career-best 8.5 BB%. In addition, he’s earned a free pass in three of his last four games. At +150, there’s plenty of value on the center fielder tonight.
