The legendary voice of the Cincinnati Reds will receive the honor of a lifetime next month.The Reds have announced a statue of Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman will be unveiled on Saturday, Sept. 6 outside of Great American Ball Park.Prior to that night’s game against the New York Mets (6:40 p.m. first pitch), the public dedication of the statue will begin at 4 p.m., with an on-field ceremony to follow at 6 p.m. “This sculpture will be a tribute to Marty Brennaman’s incredible legacy and represents all that he means to Reds Country,” Phil Castellini, Reds President and CEO said when the statue was first announced. “For nearly five decades, Marty was the voice of the Reds, bringing unforgettable moments to life for generations of fans. Now, his presence outside Great American Ball Park will be a lasting reminder of his passion and love for this team and this city.”The Reds commissioned local artist Tom Tsuchiya to create the sculpture. It will be placed near the Reds front office building facing Joe Nuxhall Way to welcome fans as they arrive at Crosley Terrace.Fans attending Sept. 6’s game will receive an oversized commemorative game ticket to mark the night in Reds history. Fans can also donate $46 to the Marty’s 46 club, which will go to support the Reds Hall of Fame statue campaign. Marty Brennaman’s statue dedication will begin Saturday September 6th at 4PM outside GABP with the unveiling on Crosley Terrace.
