Philadelphia Phillies shortstop prospect Aidan Miller blasted two home runs Thursday night in the Reading Fightin Phils’ 8-4 victory over the Altoona Curse at PNG Field in Lakemont.

Miller hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning and a solo homer in the seventh. He finished the game 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. He’s batting .249 for the season.

Reading is 21-27 in the second half, 46-69 overall. Altoona is 27-21 and 57-59 overall.

Altoona took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth when Duce Gourson hit an RBI double.

Miller put the Phils ahead 2-1 in the top of the fifth with his homer and the lead extended to 3-1 when José Rodriguez delivered an RBI double later in the frame.

Leandro Pineda and Miller delivered back-to-back home runs in the top of the seventh to extend the lead to 5-1.

Pineda, the ninth hitter in the order, then knocked in two more runs in the top of the eighth with a bases-loaded single.

Charles King (7-5) earned the win, allowing just one earned run on five hits over 5.1 innings of work.
