PHOENIX – Cincinnati Reds left-hander Nick Lodolo fared well enough in a three-inning simulated game Aug. 22 that the team plans to activate him from the injured list next week to start in Los Angeles against the Dodgers, barring a setback.

“He’s on pace to start Wednesday,” manager Terry Francona said of the Aug. 27 finale of a nine-game road trip.
