SYRACUSE 5, INDIANAPOLIS 0 (BOX)
Tylor Megill dominated in his rehab outing, pitching five one-hit innings, striking out four and walking one. Familiar faces Justin Hagenman and Richard Lovelady both also pitched to clean sheets and Hagenman racked up six strikeouts in his three innings of work. It was a big day for Ryan Clifford, who went deep twice and drove in three of Syracuse’s five runs. Joey Meneses also went deep for Syracuse in the easy victory.
Roster Alert: New York Mets sent RHP Tylor Megill on a rehab assignment to Syracuse Mets.
BINGHAMTON 5, PORTLAND 2 (BOX)
Though A.J. Ewing struck out with the bases loaded to end the second inning, he would make up for it with three hits on the day, including an RBI double in the eighth. Meanwhile, Jack Wenninger limited the damage to just two runs on seven hits through 6 1/3 innings of work, striking out seven Sea Dogs. Nick Morabito wreaked some havoc on the base paths, swiping three bags in another Rumble Ponies victory.
BROOKLYN 3, ABERDEEN 0 (BOX)
Joel DÃaz was brilliant in a shutout victory for Brooklyn, yielding just one hit and striking out six in seven innings of work. Brooklyn snapped a scoreless tie in the sixth with a three-run inning, punctuated by a Colin Houck triple, which proved to be the difference in the game. Josh Blum capped off the victory with two no-hit innings in relief.
ST. LUCIE 10, PALM BEACH 9 / 11 (BOX)
St. Lucie completes the clean sweep—all of the affiliates won last night. And this one was an extra-inning thriller. The Mets went into the ninth with a 6-1 lead, which they blew. The Cardinals scored five runs to send the game into extras. Each team scored a run in the tenth and then the Mets exploded for three runs in the top of the eleventh. The Cardinals came very close to a second comeback when a two-run homer in the bottom of the eleventh put them back within a run, but St. Lucie held on to win it. Despite allowing the Cardinals to get back in it, Estarlin Escalante earned the win in the back-and-forth contest.
Roster Alert: RHP Austin Troesser assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Brooklyn Cyclones.
