Former Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Philadelphia Phillies manager and Hall of Fame baseball player Ryne Sandberg was remembered Friday in Chicago.
Sandberg was a beloved Chicago Cubs all-star who died late last month after a battle with prostate cancer.
The funeral was held at a church in the Windy City. Former teammates and baseball icons attended the mass.
Sandberg was originally a player with the Phillies but was traded to the Cubs early in his career.
He blossomed into a superstar second baseman.
After his playing career ended, he managed the IronPigs in 2011 and 2012.
He managed the Phillies from 2013 to 2015.
Ryne Sandberg was 65 years old.
