After a 3-6 road trip, the Guardians returned to Cleveland and beat the Chicago White Sox 1-0 in walk-off fashion.

Nolan Jones walks it off in walk-off fashion vs White Sox, Mike Clevinger

Nolan Jones, in his first game back in Cleveland as a member of the Guardians, has won it — sort of.

Facing Mike Clevinger, Carlos Santana led off the ninth with an infield single. Kyle Manzardo and Jhonkensy Noel both followed with walks to load the bases with nobody out.

Clevinger still couldn’t find the strike zone against Jones, who worked the count full and then drew a walk-off walk to win it 1-0.

Emmanuel Clase entering; Guardians, White Sox still scoreless

We have been promised that one of these teams will score at some point today, allegedly.

It’s still scoreless. Emmanuel Clase is entering the game in the top of the ninth.

This game hasn’t exactly felt like a pitchers duel, either. Neither offense looks comfortable in the cold. Steven Kwan has multiple strikeouts, which is rare.

The Guardians are still searching for their first hit of the day, but they do have a baserunner — two, actually.

Kyle Manzardo drew a walk in the fifth inning to break up the perfect game. Lane Thomas was then hit by a pitch and was checked out by medical trainers. It appeared to hit Thomas on/near his wrist.

Thomas stayed in the game for a few pitches, but is now exiting the game. Daniel Schneemann is entering the game as a pinch runner at first base.
