TAMPA, Fla. — After Wednesday night’s 5-4 extra-innings loss to the New York Yankees, the Rays traded starter Zack Littell to Cincinnati.

In return for Littell, the Rays received right-hander Brian Van Belle and left-handed pitching prospect Adam Serwinowski from Cincinnati. They then agreed to acquire catcher Hunter Feduccia from the Dodgers for Serwinowski, reliever Paul Gervase and Triple-A catcher Ben Rortvedt, according to multiple sources.

The Rays announced the Littell trade late Wednesdaynight. The deal is expected to be finalized Thursday morning.

Little came to the Rays off waivers from the Red Sox in May 2023 as a reliever, then he was pressed into duty as a starter.

In 22 starts for the Rays this season, Littell had a 3.58 ERA in 133 1/3 innings. He was 8-8 with 89 strikeouts.
