Giancarlo Stanton takes fly balls in right field before a game at Yankee Stadium, Aug. 8, 2025.
Baseball’s greatest rivalry continues this weekend.
The Yankees and Red Sox take the field two more times in the Bronx as the AL East rivals finish up a four-game set at Yankee Stadium this weekend.
It’s been a complete lopsided series so far, with the Red Sox winning six of seven head-to-head meetings so far this season, including six in a row against the Bronx Bombers.
Boston took the series opener on Friday night with a 6-3 win over the Yankees in front of a sellout crowd of 47,036. Self-inflicted errors continue to be an issue for the Yankees, who committed four errors on Thursday night.
With the win, the Red Sox are now 69-59, just 1/2 game behind of the Yankees (69-58), for the top spot in the American League wild card race in the most important series in this rivalry this late into the season in four years.
