The Mets announced two roster moves prior to Saturday’s game against the Braves.

Frankie Montas has been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 22, with a right elbow UCL injury, and Huascar Brazobán has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.

Montas, who started the season on the injured list with a right lat strain, had struggled in his first season with the Mets. The starter pitched to a 6.68 ERA in seven starts, and then was relegated to the bullpen where he allowed two earned runs in five innings pitched. Montas didn’t appear in a mop-up role in Friday’s 12-7 win.

Brazobán was recalled to take Montas’ spot on the 26-man roster. In 10 2/3 innings in Syracuse, Brazobán pitched to a 6.75 ERA and 1.406 WHIP. Most of the damage against Brazobán came in one outing in the minors, where he allowed seven earned runs in one inning. Brazobán last appeared for the Mets July 28 against the Giants.
