Happy Sunday, Sox fans! Today, the Chicago White Sox will finish off their series with the Minnesota Twins after an exciting game last night, as start the third game of their ten game home stand this afternoon. Yoendrys Gómez will go against Taj Bradley in the finale.
Bradley is 6-6 with a 4.67 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 22 games. He spent the first two and a half seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Rays, and was called up to make his Twins debut today after being acquired at the trade deadline for Griffin Jax. He looks to be a big piece of the starting rotation moving forward, and has been preparing for this start in AAA.
Gómez has been solid in his time with the team thus far, with a 3-1 record. His 5.34 ERA on the season doesn’t tell the full story, as his last three outings have been solid for the team. He has 12 relief pitching appearances, and three as a starter. His last outing against the Atlanta Braves was five innings with seven hits, three runs, one walk, and three strikeouts.
Mike Tauchman leads it off, followed by Miguel Vargas at first and Kyle Teel DHing. Luis Robert Jr. takes center after his home run last night, as does Colson Montgomery at shortstop after his big grand slam. Edgar Quero is behind the dish, Andrew Benintendi is in left field, and Chase Meidroth is at second base. Curtis Mead gets the nod at third base.
Game time is at 1:10 p.m. CT, and watch on CHSN and listen on ESPN1000.
