Over the years, MLB has seen intense rivalries between some of the biggest franchises. The Yankees vs. Red Sox and Dodgers vs. Giants are a few notable ones that have been continuing for decades. However, in recent years, teams like the Dodgers and Padres have emerged as bigger rivals. Fans have started hitting it out more frequently than before, and the rivalry keeps getting worse.

The Yankees and Red Sox are two of the biggest rivals in the MLB. From early days to modern-day baseball, there’s always huge tension when both teams play. Yet, the lack of competition from star-studded players seems to be dwindling between the two.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal recently talked about the Yankees and Red Sox rivalry. Rosenthal stated that their rivalry is “not even close” when the Dodgers play the Padres.

“Give me Dodgers-Padres right now over Yankees-Red Sox. I’ll give you a whole list of reasons why. No. 1, the Dodgers and Padres are better teams. There are no established stars on both sides. When we are talking right now about where these suckers stand, not even close. Dodgers-Padres is the new Yankees-Red Sox, and until proven otherwise, that’s how it stands,” MLB insider Rosental said.

With the emerging rivalry between the Dodgers and Padres, it’s clear that their last series has been more entertaining than the Yankees-Red Sox.

MLB Seeks To Expand League With Two More Teamshttps://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0Z4DuY_146Iiw8M00Rob Manfred (Image Credits: Getty Images)

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, has proposed a geographical realignment to help players cope. Traveling with their current schedule is difficult, and the proposal will make things easier.

However, each division would change with two more teams added to the MLB. Montreal and Portland are expected to be additional teams, and the league will have four eight-team divisions. While some fans are unhappy with this progress, some are happy to have two extra teams in the league.

The MLB could take a while to implement geographical realignment, but it’s already in talks. A lot of chances will be made in each division, but players will find it easier to cope, especially when it comes to travelling.
