Chicago (76-55) defeated Los Angeles (61-69), 4-3, Sunday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. The Cubs completed a three-game sweep against the Angels.

Former Tennessee pitcher Chase Silseth made his MLB season debut with the Angels. He pitched one inning against the Cubs and recorded one strikeout. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and one walk. He totaled 26 pitches, including 15 strikes, against six batters. Four strikes were on a first pitch.
Los Angeles recalled Silseth after placing former Vanderbilt pitcher Carson Fulmer on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
Silseth (1-1) pitched for Tennessee as a freshman during the 2019 season. He appeared in 18 games, including two starts, and recorded 24 strikeouts in 20.2 innings.
Silseth finished his collegiate career at Arizona and advanced to the 2021 College World Series. He was selected by the Angels in the 11th round (No. 321 overall) of the 2021 MLB draft. Silseth was the first player from the 2021 draft to debut in MLB.

Former Vol Christian Moore also played for Los Angeles on Sunday. He started at second base and went 1-for-4.
