With Pope Leo XIV’s White Sox fandom now well-known, the team paid homage to the pontiff with a conclave-themed 2026 schedule release.
The video included several pope-themed elements, including the iconic white smoke billowing from the team’s pinwheels atop the center field scoreboard.
“On the South Side, baseball is a religion,” the team said.
The White Sox will open the regular season on March 26 against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. They will have their home opener on Thursday, April 2 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
