MILWAUKEE – Rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski looks to return to his dominant self when he toes the rubber against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night. The Miz’s recent outings have been a bit of a struggle for the young phenom. In his last three appearances, the rookie has a 9.64 ERA.
“It’s not good enough,” manager Pat Murphy told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News. “If (Misiorowski) wants to pitch for a team with the goals we have, that’s not good enough.”

Murphy’s blunt assessment was intentional.
“You can’t always rub his back and tell him how great he is,” the skipper explained. “Sometimes you need to let them know that’s not acceptable. I think he’ll be better (Tuesday night).”
As for closer Trevor Megill, the reliever has blown three of his last four saves opportunities.
Murphy isn’t concerned.
“You can’t have a perfect season as a closer,” he said. “Trevor Hoffman, Mariano Rivera, Lee Smith, etc. didn’t go through the season ‘money in the bank.’ It’s a matter of time before (a blown save occurs). We love Megill, he’s been great for us. He’ll work through it.”
When Megill enters a game at American Family Field, the stadium lights go out and fans turn on their cellphone lights.
When Murphy was asked about the closer’s ceremonial walkout routine, the manager claimed he doesn’t notice: “The lights go out for me a couple of times during the game.”
