Former Tennessee baseball pitcher Chase Dollander (2-10) is projected to start for Colorado. Framber Valdez (11-7) is also projected to start for Houston.
Entering Wednesday’s contest, Dollander has appeared in 18 games, including 18 starts, for the Rockies during the 2025 MLB season as a rookie. The former Vol totaled 68 strikeouts in 82.0 innings.
Dollander was selected by Colorado in the first round of the 2023 MLB draft (No. 9 overall). He played for the Vols from 2022-23 after transferring from Georgia Southern, earning 2022 SEC Pitcher of the Year and All-America honors.
