At press time Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers still led the second-place San Diego Padres by one game in the National League West Division.

Will Smith homered, Clayton Kershaw moved to 9-2 with a solid five innings pitching, and the Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 at Los Angeles Tuesday night. The Padres stayed a game back with a 7-6 win over the Seattle Mariners at Seattle.

In other National League divisions at press time Wednesday, Milwaukee was in front by 6.5 games over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central, and Philadelphia led the NL East by five games over the New York Mets.

In the American League, Toronto led the East Division by four games over Boston and the New York Yankees, Detroit led the Central by 9.5 games over Kansas City and Houston led the West by 1.5 games over the Mariners.   Â
