BALTIMORE — Jhostynxon Garcia and Nate Eaton, both right-handed hitters and recent call-ups, are in the Red Sox lineup Thursday against Orioles lefty Cade Povich (2-7, 5.13 ERA).
Garcia is in left field and Eaton will play center field. Jarren Duran will receive a day off.
The Red Sox and Orioles will play the final game of their four-game series Thursday at 1:05 p.m. Ace Garrett Crochet (14-5, 2.38 ERA) will start for Boston opposite Povich. Boston is going for the sweep.
Rob Refsnyder — who Boston activated from the IL earlier in the day after he missed 12 games with a left oblique strain — will bat fifth as the DH.
Boston promoted the 22-year-old Garcia, one of its top prospects, last Thursday when it placed Wilyer Abreu on the IL. Eaton’s promotion came 10 days ago when Refsnyder went on the IL.
First baseman Nathaniel Lowe was placed on paternity leave, opening the 26-man roster spot for Refsnyder.
