Brandon Marsh started the season off on the wrong foot. Not only did his much-discussed struggles with same-handed pitching persist, but they were accompanied by the unwelcome houseguest of struggles against opposite-handed pitching too. He had 36 plate appearances in April and none of them resulted in a hit. Then he went on the IL with a hamstring injury. He remained impressively hirsute throughout, but there was little else to celebrate in his early showings.

But his rehab assignment in Allentown seems to have done wonders. Since returning to the Phils he’s slashing .412/.444/.588. Granted, that’s a tiny sample size of just 18 plate appearances. And he had similar numbers across a similarly slight number of PA in March before his April struggles. Time will tell whether or not his May heater is for real. But for the moment: Do you think Marsh has turned the corner?
