Section 2 Athletics has reached a settlement agreement with La Salle Institute, limiting the 2025-2026 postseason ban to just the varsity baseball team.
Last May, La Salle Institute was found to have violated practice rules for the varsity baseball team. The head coach was suspended from the postseason, and as a result of multiple past violations, all sports at La Salle were set to be banned from the postseason for the upcoming school year.
After appeals and negotiations, Section 2 announced Thursday that it has approved a settlement agreement with the school that would limit the postseason ban to just the varsity baseball team.
In addition, the school’s current probation has been extended to June 2028.
The Cadets will be led by a new athletic director, former Notre-Dame Bishop Gibbons Athletic Director and Principal, Patrick Moran. La Salle’s former athletic director, Kevin Galuski, will serve as the assistant AD.
