Mets rookie right-hander Nolan McLean was dominant in his Wednesday start against Philadelphia, shutting the Phillies out in the 6-0 win.
And it earned him some praise from the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcasting team of Tom McCarthy and John Kruk.

We’ve seen [Pirates starter Paul] Skenes twice,” McCarthy said, “we’ve seen some other pitchers that were pretty dominant, but [McLean] was really dominant.”
Skenes is pitching to a 2.07 ERA through 27 starts for Pittsburgh. The two-time All-Star is also the reigning NL Rookie of the year.
McClean, 24, has made three starts for the Mets this year and is posting a 0.89 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings.
