There is just about one month left in the 2025 Major League Baseball season, and boy what a whirlwind it has been for Colorado Rockies fans. The season started off terribly, but things have turned around somewhat. Even if they’re still on track to lose 100+ games for a third-straight season and likely will set a franchise record for losses barring some miracle, things have been looking better. Even last night’s 11-7 loss to the Chicago Cubs was proof of that. They were down 9-2 early after a six-run fifth, but they chipped away and brought themselves within a grand slam by the end of the eighth. They have still lost a lot of games, and will continue to do so, but they’re not as out as they were earlier in the season when facing a deficit.

Rosters will also expand to 28 players on Monday, and the Rockies have some options that they could call upon to take those final two spots. They could opt for a 14th MLB debut such as Sterlin Thompson, Gabriel Hughes or Sean Sullivan; they could opt to recall some young players who already debuted but have seen limited MLB playing time like Zac Veen or Drew Romo; or perhaps they’ll call on another veteran like Nick Anderson to fill the final spot.

While we wait out the rest of the season, here’s what our writers had to say this week:
