The San Francisco Giants have been playing very good baseball lately. With a win today over the Baltimore Orioles, they would have won three consecutive series, and seven of their last nine games. Yet despite that, a loss would give them a series loss, and have them end what once felt like an incredible homestand on an ugly note.
It’s a matchup of older righties in very different positions. For the Giants, it’s 42-year old Justin Verlander, a 20-year MLB veteran. For the Orioles, it’s 35-year old Tomoyuki Sugano, playing in his first MLB season after coming over from Japan.
