The Korean baseball star went on to showcase his hitting prowess in full glory at the Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles. Kim was roped into the Dodgers’ roster after the sudden exit of the talented infielder due to an inflammation in his right ankle, which led him to the injured list and made space for Hyeseong Kim.

Hyeseong Kim launched his first home run for the Los Angeles Dodgers

During the recent game against the Oakland Athletics, the Los Angeles Dodgers had double reasons to celebrate. As their second baseman, Hyeseong Kim went on to launch his first major league home run, which led to momentum in the team’s clubhouse. The MLB world witnessed some action from Kim’s end after his eight-season stint in South Korea. Reportedly, the Korean athlete went 2-for-2 and went on to dig deep with his baseball bat, enthralling the fans with his solo shot during the fifth inning of the game. During a postgame interview, Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts reacted to Hyeseong Kim’s first home run on the home ground. He expressed being impressed by the young talent’s athletic prowess and confidence on the field. Roberts said,“Actually, I just thought that tonight we competed really well. I thought the fight with our guys was really good. I thought Hyeseong Kim’s at-bats were really good, and it was good to see him hit his first major league home run and, you know, just to be able to tack on later to stay away from the closer. I thought he was very helpful as well, so you know, Yamamoto wasn’t particularly sharp tonight, but I still felt he did enough to certainly go deeper in a game and to give us a chance to win, which is obviously a good thing.”

While discussing about Tommy Edman’s comeback and Kim’s currency performance, Dave Roberts further mentioned- “I think that we wanted to get him here to cut his teeth, get his feet wet, and see what the big leagues are about and get familiar. Once Tommy and Teo come back, there are some decisions to be made. But performance, and how he’s playing, certainly helps his case.”Hyeseong Kim went on to replace Tommy Edman after he was shifted to the 10-day injured list due to his inflamed right ankle. Something that looked like a temporary stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to bring out the brightest potential in the 26-year-old former KBO star Hyeseong Kim.
