GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The UW-Oshkosh softball and baseball teams are headed to their respective NCAA Division III tournaments.
For the third consecutive year the UW-Oshkosh softball team will host one of the 16 regionals from Thursday to Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Softball Park. The Titans (36-6) won the WIAC Tournament title which secured the conference’s automatic bid to the national tournament.
The Titans will play Concordia University Wisconsin (31-11) on Thursday at 11 a.m., and the teams have already faced each other twice this season and Oshkosh won by scores of 8-0 and 10-3. In the other regional matchup Thursday, Central College (Iowa) (26-11) and UW-Stevens Point (28-12) play each other.
Three more games will be played Friday and at least one will be played on Saturday with a potential game set for the final day of the regional if necessary.
Meanwhile, the UWO baseball team is returning to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2018 and will travel to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) for the Saint Peter, Minnesota Regional from Friday to Sunday.
The Titans (31-13) will play the University of Chicago (Ill.) (26-14) on Thursday. The teams faced each other in Lexington, Kentucky earlier this season and Chicago won, 11-2 on March 16.
Gustavus Adolphus College (36-7) will face Beloit College (30-14) in their first game on Thursday.
After Friday’s tournament-opening games, three games will be played on Saturday and at least one will be play on Sunday with a potential game set for the final day of the regional if necessary.
