Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-run walk-off home run to left center field in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the San Diego Padres beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-4 at San Diego Tuesday.
The Padres drew even with the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the loss column in the National League West Division. The Oakland Athletics routed the Dodgers 11-1 at Los Angeles Tuesday. At press time Wednesday, the Dodgers led the Padres by a half game.
Jacob Wilson homered twice as the A’s pounded the Dodgers. The A’s and Dodgers were slated to resume their series Wednesday night. The Padres were to conclude their series against the Angels that night.
The divisional leaders remained the same – the Dodgers in the NL West, the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central, the New York Mets in the NL East, the New York Yankees in the American League East, Detroit in the AL Central and Seattle in the NL West.Â
The Dodgers were set to conclude their series against the A’s Thursday and open their home series against the Angels Friday.
