When the Houston Astros reacquired Carlos Correa from the Minnesota Twins, it gave them a player the franchise not only loved but needed.

And for Correa, he got an opportunity to go back to the place that he called home for seven seasons, winning a World Series championship.
And he might be the biggest X factor down the stretch.
Since returning to Houston, Correa has looked closer to his All-Star form with a batting average near .300 and an on-base percentage close to .350, and he’s seamlessly transitioned over to third base.
But it’s also been good for the players in that clubhouse like Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, and Jeremy Pea.
But the biggest reason that he’s an X factor down the stretch is this is the time of year when Correa performs.

When the lights are the brightest, he usually shows up.
In the postseason, he has a career .860 OPS and is 10th all-time in postseason hits and postseason home runs.
And as the Astros look to make another deep postseason run and fend off the Seattle Mariners, Correa will be in the middle of that lineup, looking to help them get there.
