The Don Kelly era of the Pittsburgh Pirates is underway.

The Pirates avoided the sweep against the New York Mets on Wednesday night with a 4-0 shutout win and are 3-3 since Kelly took over.

Though the Pirates have played better under Kelly, the offense is still struggling. They’ve gone a franchise record 20-straight games without scoring more than four runs. And the club is still in last place in the National League Central with a 15-29 record — 10 games out of first place to be exact.

After a day off on Thursday, the Pirates will head to Philadelphia for the start of a three-game series with their Keystone State rivals.

As always, there’s a lot going on.
