Longtime Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman‘s wife, Amanda, explained in a Facebook post how she was hit by a foul ball in the 4th inning as she sat in the first row of the Lexus Diamond Club at Great American Ball Park and watched the Reds’ 13-9 loss September 3 to the Toronto Blue Jays.

“In the bottom of the 4th inning a foul ball came over the net and hit me square over my left breast,” Amanda posted. “Thank God, I grabbed my Fitbit and put it on my bra strap because it hit that first and took most of the impact. I will for sure be bruised and already sore but it could have been way way worse. The staff at the Reds and the medical team were fantastic and made sure I was OK before returning to my seat. Thank you for all the texts etc., checking on me. And yes, I’m keeping the ball!”
