Fish Unfiltered—Episode #79
With his debut season as Marlins manager nearing a close, Clayton McCullough sits down with Isaac Azout and Kevin Barral for an exclusive interview. McCullough was refreshingly forthcoming about the challenges he has experienced in a new role, the factors he accounts for when finalizing lineups and in-game substitutions, and how he plans to utilize specific Marlins players moving forward.

The 17th manager in Marlins history, McCullough was hired last November fresh off winning a World Series championship as the first base coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers. A former professional catcher, he managed seven seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization (2007-2013), though never at the major league level prior to this year.
McCullough, 45, inherited the youngest roster in MLB and surrounded himself with one of the league’s youngest coaching staffs.
Entering Friday, the Marlins have a 65-75 record, exceeding their 2024 win total with nearly a month still to play.
