TALLAHASSEE — Florida State baseball outfielder Gage Harrelson has been selected in the 16th round of the 2025 MLB Draft. The Los Angeles Angels drafted Harrelson with the No. 469 overall pick.

Harrelson spent one season in Tallahassee after transferring from Texas Tech this past offseason. The left-handed hitter was a freshman All-American at Tech in 2023 before a bit of a sophomore slump. He found his freshman form again as the Seminoles’ leadoff hitter, starting all of FSU’s 58 games.

The outfielder was named a Third Team All-ACC member. He hit leadoff in all but one game this season, setting the table for Dick Howser Trophy winner Alex Lodise. Harrelson hit .339 with a .444 OBP and .462 SLG%. He hit a career-high five home runs. He also produced 10 doubles, two triples, and 15 stolen bases. The junior scored 63 runs and drove in 43.

After playing center field at Texas Tech, he shifted over to right field this season and played gold glove level defense. He had three assists and committed a pair of errors but consistently made run-saving plays with his above average range and athleticism.

The Angels could sign Harrelson for up to $150k without it counting against their bonus pool. Any money that exceeds the $150k would count towards the pool.
