LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Angels announced before Thursday afternoon’s game that they have claimed infielder Logan Davidson off waivers from the Houston Astros. In a corresponding move, the Halos have optioned infielder Niko Kavadas to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Davidson, 27, was a first-round draft pick by the Athletics back in 2019 and was drafted as a top prospect for the club. In 2025, he produced a slashline of .303/.452/.428 line by mid-May in Triple-A, and with this production, the A’s gave him a chance to play with the big league club.

The 27-year-old had 24 at-bats in 2025 and had a night-and-day slashline of .150/.261/.200. His tenure with the A’s would be short-lived as he was quickly optioned back to Triple-A and was then released by the club in July. Shortly after, Davidson was picked up by the Houston Astros and sent to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Davidson continued to struggle mightily with his new ball club, as he produced a slashline of .207/.290/.390 and was later released once more before being picked up by the Halos.

Kavadas, 26, has spent most of his 2025 playing for Triple-A Salt Lake, but has had some time in the majors for Los Angeles. In 20 at-bats for the Halos, Kavadas had only two hits and produced a slashline of .100/.217/.100 in his short tenure.

The 26-year-old had more success playing for Salt Lake, as in 390 at-bats for the Bees, Kavadas produced a slashline of .228/.367/.459.Â
