The Los Angeles Dodgers have scratched Tyler Glasnow from his scheduled start on Friday.

Shohei Ohtani is now taking the mound in the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.

This is the second rotation shakeup the Dodgers have had this week. Ohtani was initially expected to start on Wednesday, but was scratched before the game due to an illness. He was replaced by Emmet Sheehan as the pitcher, but remained as the team’s designated hitter.

Manager Dave Roberts said that Ohtani’s next scheduled start would come Monday when the team returned home. That, however, has now been changed again, as he’s starting on Friday in place of Glasnow.

Why Isn’t Tyler Glasnow Starting on Friday for Dodgers?

As for Glasnow, there’s no word why he’s been scratched from the lineup, but Roberts is scheduled to speak to reporters at 4:40 p.m. ET in Baltimore and will provide the reasoning for the rotation change.

The Dodgers enter this series having just been swept by the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates, so it will be up to Ohtani to get them back in the win column.
