LSU’s Jay Johnson received great news today with the commitment of 6-foot-5, 218-pound right-hander Coleton Brady. He won’t turn 17 until November 2025.

The North Collins, New York, native is considered the top right-hander in the country for his class. He currently plays for TNXL Academy in Florida. Although his future is on the mound, Brady is athletic enough to flash his leather at shortstop.

His repertoire includes a 93.4 mph fastball with a 2,376 spin rate, a 12–6 curveball that reaches 82 mph with a 2,574 spin rate, a solid changeup in the 86–87 mph range with a 1,957 spin rate, and a slider in the 83–85 mph range with a 2,747 spin rate. He demonstrates a side-step delivery, throwing with a controlled tempo.
