LSU’s future bullpen continues to grow and seems to be bursting at the seams with potential talent.
Hayden Morris from Blinn College committed to the Tigers. The 6-foot-8, 265-pound right-hander was previously a 19th-round selection by the New York Yankees.
Morris posted a 10-0 record last season in 19 appearances, with a 2.35 ERA over 86.1 innings, striking out 106 while allowing 48 walks.
He delivers his fastball at 95 mph but is capable of reaching the 96–98 mph range. His slider sits between 86–88 mph, and he features a sharp 12–6 curveball in the mid-80s with 2,366 RPM. He also generates good run on his fastball up in the zone.
Major League scouts believe his future could be in the bullpen, but they would also like the Conroe, Texas, product to shed some weight.
