A day after scratching him from a start at Rate Field, the Chicago White Sox have reportedly traded starting pitcher Adrian Houser to the Tampa Bay Rays.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan and multiple other reports, the hurler will hope to continue his stellar season in Tampa as he heads south just before the trade deadline.

The Tampa Bay Rays are acquiring Adrian Houser from the White Sox, source tells ESPN.

The return in the deal was not immediately reported

Houser has a 6-2 record and a 2.10 ERA in 11 starts with the White Sox this season. He has 47 strikeouts in 68.2 innings, but also has a 1.22 WHIP and a Wins Above Replacement of 3.0 on the season.

His last start with the White Sox was a memorable one, as he held the Cubs to three runs in 6.2 innings in a 12-5 victory on the South Side last week.
