Guardians top prospect (and No. 15 overall) Travis Bazzana continues his hot streak with the Columbus Clippers.
Entering the club’s final road trip of the regular season, Bazzana has belted four home runs in four games. The latest was a three-run shot in a 10-9 loss to Indianapolis on Sept. 7.
He also had a walk-off home run to beat Indianapolis 5-3 on Sept. 4 and hit two home runs in Columbus’ 12-0 victory Sept. 6.
Bazzana was called up to the Clippers on Aug. 12 and has played in 23 games at the Triple-A level. He is slashing .247/.435/.481. In the month of September, his slash line is .391/.491/1.000.
The Oregon State product was the No. 1 pick of the 2024 MLB Draft. His path to the big leagues was slowed this summer when he missed two months with an oblique injury.
Of the organization’s top five prospects, three are playing at the Triple-A level: Bazzana, outfielder Chase DeLauter and catcher Cooper Ingle.
The Clippers are in St. Paul from Sept. 9 through Sept 14 and close out the season with a home set against Omaha that starts on Sept. 16.
