The start of the Arizona Fall League is three weeks away and the Red Sox have made public the list of their prospects who will be participating.
Red Sox players will compete for the Salt River Rafters, a team which will also include players from the Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies. The team will be managed by the Pirates’ Eric Patterson, whose coaching staff will include Red Sox minor league hitting instructor Chris Hess.
The Red Sox will send righthanded pitchers Jonathan Brand, Brandon Neely, Isaac Stebens and Luis Perales along with lefty Jojo Ingrassia.
Perales is regarded as one of the organization’s top pitching prospects, but missed all of this season recovering from 2024 Tommy John surgery. SoxProspects.com currently ranks him third on its Top Prospect list.
Among position players, the Red Sox are sending outfielders Stanley Tucker, Nelly Taylor Jr. and catcher Johanfran Garcia.
Taylor is a speedy outfielder who reached High A Greenville this past year after having been drafted in the 11th round in 2023.
Garcia is the younger brother of fellow Red Sox prospect Jhostynxon Garcia, an outfielder who made his major league debut a few weeks ago and is finishing the season at Triple A Worcester.
The AFL season begins Monday, Oct. 6 and runs for about five weeks.
