Shohei Ohtani homered twice and drove in six runs in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 19-2 rout of the Athletics on Thursday.

After hitting a sacrifice fly in a three-run second inning that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 6-2, Ohtani put the icing on the cake with a three-run shot to left-center in the third and a two-run blast to center field in the fourth at Dodger Stadium.

Ohtani and Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies are now tied for the National League lead with 15 home runs. The Japanese slugger was 2-for-5 in his first two-homer game of the season.

Max Muncy, Andy Pages and James Outman also homered for the Dodgers, who pounded out 18 hits.

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano (4-3) gave up four runs, the most he has allowed in his major league rookie season, in 6-1/3 innings in a 4-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins.

Meanwhile, veteran pitcher Kenta Maeda has agreed to a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs, sources familiar with the matter said Thursday.

The 37-year-old right-hander, who was released by the Detroit Tigers earlier this month, is expected to join Triple-A Iowa in the coming days.
