Royals at Guardians picks and predictionsPrediction
Guardians 4, Royals 3
The GUARDIANS (-145) are worth a look as moderate favorites in the series finale, as they not only look to keep the Royals down, but Cleveland looks to keep its slim playoff hopes alive.
Cleveland had its 5-game winning streak snapped in Wednesday’s 4-3 loss, but it 3-1 in the past 4 starts by Williams, who is pitching very well.
The Royals +1.5 (-190) are a little on the expensive side, costing nearly 2 times your potential return. While Kolek has pitched well since being acquired from San Diego, he hasn’t pitched in a game with this many playoff implications, perhaps ever. Backing Kansas City is a risk, especially since it is 4-6 in the past 10 games, and 1-3 in the past 4 games on the run line as an underdog.
PASS.
UNDER 7.5 (+100) is the lean at even-money, but go with a half-unit play at most.
The Under is 3-1 in the past 4 games for the Royals, while going 10-2 in the past 12 outings since Aug. 29.
For the Guardians, the total has gone low in 4 of the past 5 games, with the pitching staff allowing a total of 10 runs in the previous 6 outings, or 1.7 runs per game.
