KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The band is back together again.
Royals 2015 World Series champs Lorenzo Cain, Ben Zobrist, Eric Hosmer, and Mike Moustakas will compete in Saturday’s Home Run Derby X at Kauffman Stadium.
Jeremy Guthrie and Alex Gordon will coach their former teammates.
“I feel like they’re in pretty good shape,” Gordon said. “I just saw [Lorenzo] Cain. Cain, as you can imagine, still looks pretty good.”
The competition will feature four teams of three players. Each gets 2.5 minutes to hit as many home runs as they can. The opposing teams can score points by catching pop flies in the outfield.
“Definitely will be putting in some bets for my guys,” Gordon said. “Gonna go big on them.”

The winning team will advance to the final round in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Kansas City event is the sixth and final stop of the tour.
The Royals will compete against old foes from New York and Toronto.
“A lot of these kids that kind of grew up watching us playing don’t remember us playing, so I think it’s a lot of fun for them to come out and see that we kind of still have it a little bit,” Gordon said.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The competition starts at 7:00 p.m.
