Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays for today’s fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings, which starts at 7:10 p.m. ET.
With a split schedule this Saturday, DraftKings has a solid seven-game fantasy baseball slate under the lights. The schedule includes four divisional matchups, three interleague games, and both of the two teams tied for the lead of the AL West. With some very close races coming down the stretch, the last two weeks of the Major League Baseball season are poised to deliver plenty of drama. With 14 teams on the board Saturday, plenty of options are available at almost every position and price point. With some great matchups to attack and strong plays at a variety of price points, let’s dive in and take a look at my top MLB DFS picks from Saturday’s slate.
As always, it’s important to check your fantasy baseball roster before the first pitch for starting lineups and the latest weather forecasts. Overall, the weather looks clear for the evening slate, but check back for updates on the forecast and teams’ lineups before the games begin.

Stud
Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels, $10,200: While it’s hard to pass on the upside of Hunter Greene ($9,100), Woo has been extremely consistent for the Mariners this season and is a strong option at home against the Angels. Woo has at least 19 fantasy points in six of his last seven starts, with over 29 fantasy points in three of those outings.
He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his last seven outings, going 5-1 with at least eight strikeouts in four of those contests. He’ll get a good matchup against the Angels, who have the highest K% in the majors this season and have averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game over the last month while hitting just .211 with an 82 team wRC+.
Value
Bryce Elder, Atlanta Braves vs. Houston Astros, $5,500: Elder’s season-long numbers are sketchy, but he leads the team in wins, starts and innings this year since he has been one of its most dependable options in the rotation. He has an ugly 5.35 ERA for the year, but his 4.14 xFIP indicates some of that is due to below-average luck.
The 26-year-old righty has settled in lately, though, with a 1.37 ERA and 2.72 FIP in his last four starts, with 21 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings. He earned over 16 fantasy points in each of those four outings with 29.35 and 24.65 fantasy points in his last two starts. All four of those games have been against playoff hopefuls in the National League, and he’ll look to continue his strong results against the Astros, who are tied with Woo and the Mariners at the top of the AL West coming into the day. Elder is extremely affordable and doesn’t have to do much to return great value at this price point Saturday night in Atlanta.
INFIELD
Stud
Geraldo Perdomo, Arizona Diamondbacks at Minnesota Twins, $4,500: Perdomo has been on fire lately and is putting the finishing touches on a true breakout season. I highlighted him in my preview of the first game of this series, and he delivered a win in my total bases pick by going 1-for-2 with a home run. He added a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and another run scored to get to 29 fantasy points on Friday.
Perdomo has impressive new career bests with 26 stolen bases and 19 homers, and he’s hitting .284 with a .362 wOBA. His previous career highs for a full season were from 2023, when he had a .319 wOBA, six homers and 16 stolen bases. He’s taken a huge step forward and is coming into this matchup against Joe Ryan ($9,500) hot. Over his last 20 games, he went 20-for-74 (.270) with six homers and four stolen bases.
Stud
Jorge Polanco, Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels, $4,200: Polanco has a 10-game hitting streak coming into Saturday night’s matchup with the Angels, and the switch-hitting 2B has nine extra-base hits, a .400 batting average and a .488 wOBA over those 10 games. He averaged 10.5 fantasy points per game over that stretch and has also beat up on the Angels this season, averaging 9.3 fantasy points per game over his 11 matchups against his division rivals.
Polanco will also be on the strong side of his splits against rookie lefty Mitch Farris ($7,500). He’s hitting .298 against lefties this year with a .358 wOBA and 136 wRC+.
Value
Sal Stewart, Cincinnati Reds at Athletics, $2,600: The Reds called up their top prospect, Sal Stewart, when the rosters expanded on Sept. 1. The 21-year-old hit .309 with 20 homers, 17 stolen bases, 80 RBIs and a .413 wOBA in his 118 games in Double-A and Triple-A and MLB Pipeline ranked him as the No. 30 prospect in all of baseball.
In the majors, he is only 4-for-24 (.167), but two of those hits were home runs. He got Friday off, but if he’s back in the lineup on Saturday against Luis Severino ($5,700), he brings great upside as a bargain option under $3,000 at 1B.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals, $4,900: While some of the top pay-up outfield options are strong plays as well, Chourio is a great value stud just under $5,000. Chourio missed a month with a hamstring injury but has looked back to full strength over the last week, posting double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five contests while going 8-for-20 (.400) with a 52.6% hard-hit rate, two doubles and two homers.
Chourio has smashed the Cardinals throughout his career, and he has a good history against Sonny Gray ($9,200), going 4-for-11 (.364) with three extra-base hits, including a home run.
Stud
Jackson Merrill, San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies, $4,300: Let’s go full Action Jackson this Saturday night and roll with Merrill, too. He’s another dynamic young outfielder finding his stride lately at the plate, and he gets a great matchup against the Rockies and Bradley Blalock ($5,000) on Saturday.
Merrill has been limited to 102 games this year and is hitting .257 with a .318 wOBA, a huge step down from his .292 average and .352 wOBA as a rookie last year. He has looked better over the last week, though, going 8-for-25 (.308) with two singles, two doubles, two triples and two home runs–very balanced production! He has hit seven of his 11 homers at home this season, and nine of his 11 homers against righties. On the other side of the matchup, Blalock has let lefties hit seven of the 11 homers he has allowed while posting a .357 batting average and .431 wOBA. The Padres lefties are all strong options to consider, with Merrill one of the best options on the board.
Value
Tim Tawa, Arizona Diamondbacks at Minnesota Twins, $3,000: Tawa has split time between Triple-A and the majors this season. He should get more playing time down the stretch since Tyler Locklear (elbow) is expected to miss the rest of the season. Tawa has eligibility at 1B and OF on this slate and is a solid bargain play to round out your roster at either spot. The 26-year-old righty just came off the injured list after missing a month with a fractured rib, but he has looked excellent since rejoining the team on Monday.
He went 5-for-10 (.500) in his three games since then and has now played 62 games for the Dbacks with just a .218 average, six homers and seven stolen bases. He has two doubles, five runs scored and an average of 11 fantasy points per game in his three contests since returning to Arizona’s roster. Last year, Tawa had 31 homers and 14 stolen bases in 142 games in Double-A and Triple-A, so there is both power and speed potential at his bargain salary.
