No one ever doubted that Jacob Misiorowski had a ton of talent. Or that he could pump a fastball so fast that it could make a batter’s knees shake.
The question has been what his role at the Major League level will ultimately be. And there are very few who doubt that he will eventually end up making it there.

The Milwaukee Brewers drafted Misiorowski in the 2nd round of the 2022 MLB draft out of Crowder College, the same college that produced fellow Crew hurler Aaron Ashby. He quickly showed why the selection was a great one.
Misiorowski has spent time dominating hitters up and down the organization, winning MiLB Pitcher of the Week awards at every level but High-A. He has a career 3.30 ERA. .164 opponents batting average, and an impressive 12.4 strikeouts per nine innings over 63 minor league games.
He also has had issues with control, allowing 5.4 walks per nine innings over his professional career. Though he’s primarily worked as a starter in the minors, it’s led many to wonder whether his long-term future is in the rotation or in the bullpen as a potential elite closer.
After a brief stretch as a reliever to finish 2024, Misiorowski has been back in the rotation to begin 2025. And lately, he’s turned up his performance in that role to another level.
Jacob Misiorowski’s last five starts have been nothing short of dominant.
Misiorowski’s first five starts of the season for Triple-A Nashville were similar to ones from the past. Outside of one blow up start, he would limit the runs, but walk a handful of batters, which would in turn run up his pitch count and limit his innings.

His most recent five starts have been a different story. He’s still limited the scoring, giving up just two earned runs over that span. But his control has completely turned a corner.
Misiorowski has walked just seven batters over his last five starts, four of which came in the same start. In the other four, he has five up either one or zero walks in all of them.
And that has allowed him to go deeper into games as well. In his last five starts he has gone six runs twice, a career high 6.2 innings once, and most recently a new career high seven innings on Thursday.
Even as the control has done a complete 180, Misiorowski has continued to blow away batters. Not only has he kept piling up the strikeouts, including 11 on May 9, one shy of his career high, he broke his velocity barrier in his most recent start as well.
Misiorowski has been so good to start 2025 that Brewers fans will surely be clamoring for his MLB debut soon, if they aren’t already. But unfortunately they might not get their wish, at least right away.

While the Brewers have spent much of the year navigating injuries to their starting rotation, they’ve also had rookies like Chad Patrick and Logan Henderson step up to fill valuable innings. Additionally, injured starters Brandon Woodruff and Aaron Civale are close to returns from the IL.
One way or another, Misiorowski is going to force his way to the majors, whether it’s now or further down the line. His recent stretch shows that there’s a better chance it could be as a starter than may previously thought.
