Rockies Report, Game 148:
ROCKIES BOTTOM LINE: After being called up to fill in at first base for the injured Warming Bernabel and the still-struggling Michael Toglia, Blaine Crim delivered a three-run homer that finally got the Rockies on the scoreboard at San Diego for the first time this season and ultimately gave them their first win at Petco Park after six-consecutive losses.
The Rockies’ 4-2 win also snapped a six-game losing streak.
Claimed off waivers from the Texas Rangers last month, Crim posted a .273/.360/.424 line in 26 games with the Albuquerque Isotopes before being promoted Friday. Kyle Farmer followed up one pitch later with his eighth homer of the season, increasing the Rockies’ lead to 4-0.
That damage off Dylan Sears proved to be enough.
The homer wasn’t only Crim’s first in the major leagues — it was his first MLB hit of any kind. He went 0-for-11 with the Rangers earlier this season.

Orlando Arcia also had three hits for the Rockies, who got a strong start from Tanner Gordon, ensuring Crim’s blast was enough to end their recent Petco woes.
Colorado is 41-117.
ROCKIES STARTER’S REPORT
The recent surge of Gordon continued Friday, as he locked into a steady rhythm after Manny Machado punished his hanging slider in the bottom of the first inning to put him and the Rox in a 1-0 hole.
After that, Gordon squelched the Padres, retiring the next 16 San Diego batters on 55 pitches before Luis Arraez finally got on base with a leadoff bunt single in the seventh. After Machado worked a walk, interim manager Warren Schaeffer relived Gordon, and Juan Mejia took care of the rest, dispatching the Padres in order to ensure no further damage.
This was Gordon’s fourth quality start in his last five outings. Even with a rough game last Sunday, Gordon has a 3.58 ERA in those five starts — three of which have come at home. He appears to have earned a look for next year’s rotation and earned his sixth win of the year.
