It’s put-up or shut-up time in fantasy baseball. With two weeks left in the MLB season — and, depending on format, one week left in the fantasy campaign — every little piece of help could be of assistance. Here’s a look at hitters to target on the waiver wire as we approach Week 24 of the 2025 fantasy baseball campaign.
Best Week 24 hitters to target
We’ll start with two injured players on the verge of returning to MLB action.
Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado has been rehabbing in Springfield (AA) over the last week. Manager Oli Marmol stated that Arenado will return to action this week, meaning he’ll see his first Major League games since early August.
Wilyer Abreu, meanwhile, was running on September 14, as the Red Sox expect him to return next week. He’ll likely be a welcome addition, especially with Roman Anthony on the injured list.
We’ll see what impact both Abreu and Arenado will have over the final two weeks. Nonetheless, both are worth an add if needed, especially Abreu. Abreu had 22 home runs before hitting the IL with a calf strain a month ago.
Next up are the hitters who have performed well as of late.
Daylen Lile has been one of baseball’s hottest hitters over the last two weeks. Lile hit .415 with two home runs and eight RBI over the last two weeks. He ranked in the top three in runs scored (13) and hits (22) over that span.
Royce Lewis, meanwhile, has been a jack of all trades. He hit two home runs and stole three bases over the last week, part of a September that saw him hit .280 and tie Corbin Carroll for the MLB league lead in stolen bases (7) on the month.
Otto Kemp, meanwhile, is hitting .375 over his last seven games. Kemp took over as the Phillies’ regular third baseman when Alec Bohm went on the IL.
Overview of Week 23
For those who picked him up last week, Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco continued to rake.
Polanco hit .393 over his last seven days, as he led Seattle in total hits (10) across that span.
As for the others from our Week 23 list, Ivan Herrera blasted a pair of home runs for the Cardinals over the last week. Jacob Wilson had himself another fine week, as he picked up eight more hits over his last six games.
