Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper both homered, and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 Monday night at Los Angeles.
The Phillies clinched the National League East division championship in the process, becoming the first MLB team to clinch a division title.
At press time Tuesday, the Dodgers’ lead in the National League West over the second-place San Diego Padres stood at two games. The Dodgers came up short Monday night despite a home run and three RBIs by Mookie Betts.
At press time, the Dodgers were to resume their series against the Phillies, and the Padres were to open their series in New York against the Mets.  Â
