The Cubs’ outfielder is hitting .248 with a .774 OPS, 29 home runs and 90 RBI.
Earlier this season, Crow-Armstrong became the first Cubs’ player ever to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases before the All-Star break. There’s only been 10 total MLB players to accomplish such a feat in the last 25 years. Now, Crow-Armstrong has made more history.
Crow-Armstrong Makes More Cubs History
The Cubs’ centerfielder came into Chicago’s series with the Pittsburgh Pirates with 63 extra-base hits and 34 stolen bases on the season. In the first game of the series on Monday, Crow-Armstrong led the Cubs to a win with a double, home run and stolen base.

His performance on Monday made him the first Cub with 35 steals and 65 extra-base hits in a season since Kiki Cuyler in 1930, according to The Wrigley Wire.
Crow-Armstrong has struggled in the second half, and particularly since the start of August. The Cubs’ young star has seen his average drop from .273 to .248 and his OPS fall from .869 to .774.
He also has just two home runs and 12 RBI during that span. However, Crow-Armstrong’s incredible start to the season displayed what he’s capable of when he’s feeling right.
The first-time All-Star has broke numerous records throughout this season, with his fast start and his young age, but there’s still more history that is in his reach.

Crow-Armstrong is one home run away from being the first Cubs’ players to accomplish a 30 home run, 30 double and 30 stolen base season, according to 670 The Score’s Bruce Levine.
The Cubs have 11 games remaining, and while Chicago will be focused on trying to clinch a playoff berth on Wednesday, Crow-Armstrong has 11 games to try to further cement himself in Cubs’ history.
