Prior to yesterday’s game against the Houston Astros, the Texas Rangers activated pitcher Danny Coulombe from the injured list. To make room for him on the active roster, the Rangers optioned pitcher Luis Curvelo to AAA Round Rock.
Coulombe, a lefty reliever, was acquired by the Rangers from the Minnesota Twins at the trade deadline in exchange for pitching prospect Garrett Horn. Coulombe made 11 appearances for the Rangers before being placed on the injured list with shoulder fatigue. He appeared in last night’s game against the Astros, retiring two of the three batters he faced.
