BOSTON (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Boston’s 2-1 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.
The right-hander entered the game in the seventh inning.
Slaten forced Max Schuemann and Shea Langeliers to fly out to center field before getting Jacob Wilson to ground out to first base to complete the 1-2-3 inning.
Slaten threw five pitches, with all five being strikes.
The Red Sox (82-69) sit in third place in the AL East, and currently hold the third Wild Card spot, 2 1/2 games up on the Cleveland Guardians. Boston continues their series with the Athletics on Wednesday at Fenway Park.
